“I am with you always” (Matthew 28:20)
These are very different days. The worldwide response to a pandemic is impacting all of us. The challenges with their attending anxieties are unique. The list of cancellations is long and significant. The reaction of people ranges from denial to panic.

For us who follow Jesus, there are circumstantial challenges, but we have a constant hope to sustain us through these days. Our ongoing hope is in Jesus Christ who has overcome sin and death. Our ongoing hope is in the presence of the resurrected Lord in our lives each day.

God is our refuge and strength,
   a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
   though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam,
   though the mountains tremble at its swelling. (Psalm 46:1-3)

"Be still, and know that I am God.
   I will be exalted among the nations,
   I will be exalted in the earth!”
The LORD of hosts is with us;
   the God of Jacob is our fortress. (Psalm 46:10-11)

Lord Jesus, thank you for your promise to be with me always. In these days, assure me of your presence and help me remember that you are a help in time of trouble. Amen.
