In the Name
As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
2 Corinthians 13:14
In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I don’t know about you but when I hear those 3 names, whatever was said, prayed, done or vowed feels complete. We have a Supreme Father God who rules in love and justice. He loves us lavishly (abundantly) and hates what is evil.
We have a Son who lived on this earth, died for our sins and rose again. He modeled how to live, think and pray. He showed us how to love and disciple those around us and reach out to those who do not know Him, yet.
We have a Holy Spirit, not a spirit but THE Holy Spirit, who counsels us, guides us and convicts us when needed for our good.
We do not have to face anything alone or wonder how or what to do next. We don’t just have one God. We have the God who is 3 in 1. Better than any infomercial where the object may be used 3 different ways. Our God, the one and only God, is the Triune God. Even if our finite brains cannot understand the trinity, it does not negate the fact that God is Triune. (Genesis 1)
Prayer: May we walk today in the strength of our God Almighty, the love and grace of our Savior, Jesus Christ and the power and discernment of our Holy Spirit. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen (Amen = it is so)
