How is it that one name, Jesus Christ, can heal, redeem, cast out demons yet cause anger and be a curse word when spoken? There truly is power in the name of Jesus Christ. People can come together when using the name God but when you add Jesus Christ it can cause division. Have you ever been in a conversation and said the name of Jesus? Right away there is either a connection with that person or a division. Jesus came to this world to bring salvation and love. How is it that He can be so misunderstood?
Today I share with you some meaningful Scripture passages that help me as I focus on the name of Jesus.
“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”
Who does not want their sins taken away? His entire mission on earth was to bring salvation and love.
“And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.”
Jesus wanted to glorify His Father no matter what the cost. He wanted to glorify God by bringing salvation and love.
“I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—
I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
He wanted those who knew him to be one as He and the Father were one. This prayer shows His heart for His followers. He came to bring salvation and love.
Prayer: Father, may we glorify you as we boldly share Christ’s message of salvation and love. This world needs your message especially during these troubling times. Please use me and all believers to bring hope to those we encounter day by day. Amen.
