Christ the King School Newsletter - January 8, 2019
Dear Christ the King Families,

At mass this past Sunday, our Catholic church celebrated the Feast of the Epiphany, and the prophetic visit of the  magi  to the Baby Jesus. This great Feast of the Epiphany, celebrates the adoration of Jesus by the wise men from the East followed by Jesus’s baptism in the river Jordan, and the wedding at Cana in Galilee. As we liturgically continue to celebrate this season, we are reminded of the innocence and promise of our students and families -- we are all God’s children.

It was awesome praying with our community at morning assembly on Monday, and welcoming everyone back. As I traveled to each classroom that day, it was remarkable to see the great teaching and learning that occurred right out of the gate. My message to our students, parents, faculty, and staff is simple yet important: May your New Year be filled with peace, health, and continued happiness.
Your children bring such purpose, inspiration, and responsibility to our vocation/mission as Catholic educators. We thank you for your commitment to Catholic education, and to your many sacrifices seen by God, and recognized as a blessing for each of us.

Abundant blessings,
Joe Silveira
Christ the King Catholic School
Let us pray for the mother of Mrs. Rubino and grandmother of Tyler (Gr. 6) and Michaela (Gr. 4) and the grandfather of Cheyenne Rupurto (Gr. 5) who both went to heaven in the past few weeks. May God keep these friends and families, along with those who are suffering illness, loneliness or other challenges, in His tender and loving care.

Choir Update
Hello Parents,

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday between Christmas and New Year! First off, I'd like to congratulate your students for a wonderful Christmas Program! As we get back into the swing of things, I request that  ALL  choir members  RE-REGISTER  for choir for the remainder of the year. This is also an opportunity to join choir if your student is interested. Unfortunately, we've had some students who have been attending choir who are not signed up and a few who are no longer a part of choir and I was never informed. This will allow me to update my roster and we will be implementing a new attendance policy in which your student will check-in to choir through their teacher as they leave their classroom for rehearsal.  All former registrations will be invalid beginning Wednesday, January 23rd . I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but this is for accountability and the safety of your student. If you do not register your student by  Monday, January 21st , I will have to send them to Club and I cannot have them participate in choir until the registration is complete. Please turn in the forms to the homeroom teacher (NOT THE MAIN OFFICE). Click here for new Registration Form.

Thank you for your cooperation!
