Christ the King School Newsletter - August 28, 2018
Dear Christ the King School Families,

Last week was filled with HOPE and excitement for a new school year and inspiring start. Our Prayer of Blessing Service, on the first day of school, was powerful as was Friday’s school mass whereby many of you were there to celebrate.  It was wonderful to meet so many of you this past week as each new day continues to remind me how blessed I am to be a member of such a special community.

CTK is a family, and together we can continue to do amazing things and make a big difference in the lives of our children. My hope this school year is to see you all on campus each day, whether it be at Friday mass, working in the “Garden of Blessings”, volunteering in the classroom(s) or at many events like this year’s school auction. If I have not yet had the opportunity to meet you in person, please introduce yourselves to me. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, Wednesday, August 29th at 6:30 p.m. at
Back to School Night where we will begin the evening of events in our Church as planned.

Student Success
Students and teachers are beginning to settle into their daily routines, learning new schedules, getting organized and exploring together the joy of learning. As we fall back into the routine of a new school year, it is important to check in with your children on a regular basis. Click here to view some engaging tips from Challenge Success to support and communicate with your children as we begin another exciting school year.

In Gratitude
We started off the school year with several fun community building events. The New Family Ice Cream Social, Kindergarten Orientation, First Day of School Hospitality Event, Friday and weekend mass and the celebration after the 12:15 p.m. mass were wonderful. I want to thank Eileen Brinker, Megan Lopoz, Kristen Sawyer, and the many parish and school community volunteers that worked to make these events a big success.

A very special thank you to Father Paulson, Robin Morley, and our priests, sisters, faculty, staff, and parish staff/community for such special masses and a celebration -- as Father Mario and I were welcomed to the CTK community this past weekend.

Spread the News
Word of mouth often is the best way that prospective parents find out about our amazing school!  Please continue to help us spread the word to our neighbors and friends that we still have availability in certain grades -- with ten more open spots to be at full capacity.

Lastly, seeing many of you and your children at all the weekend masses this past weekend was awesome! Your children are amazing and each day I continue to be very honored to be a member of our CTK community.

Abundant blessings,
Mr. Silveira
Let's pray for all those who are suffering from illnesses. Let's also pray those affected by the recent natural disasters including the California wildfires, the floods in India and the hurricane in Hawaii. May God keep them in His tender, loving care.
We pray for former CTK Club Staff Member, Evelyn Jumper who has gone to Heaven.

Carpool Safety
Please drive SLOWLY and CAREFULLY in the school parking lot during morning drop off and afternoon pick up. It is always important to pay attention to the crossing guard and signals near school. Small children can be hard to see in a crowded lot, so we ask that you be aware of their safety at all times. Also, when parking please pull forward to the front spaces, if available, and park facing the gym. We appreciate your support in keeping everyone safe!
Note from the Office
Handbook Change : In an effort to keep the students safe and healthy we have decided not to allow birthday treats at school. Please know your child’s birthday will be acknowledged and celebrated during morning assembly and in their classroom. We will have themed holiday classroom parties where Nut Free products are allowed and shared with the class. This decision came with much consideration and we are grateful for you continued support.
