Changing agency tickets:
Ticket exchanges must be made by the original ticketing source.
- The primary reason for the change is, over the years, travel agencies have asked that they maintain control of their customers’ reservations.
- Additionally, corporate customers want to be aware of their employees’ travel, including any changes and the travel agencies are in the best position to ensure that any corporate or leisure discount is applied to all changes.
Changes can be made within 24 hours of ticketed flight time:
- Within 24 hours of the ticketed flight time, customers can make changes using the check-in process on the app, united.com or an airport kiosk. This includes same-day flight changes for a discounted fee, if applicable.
- If a customer has already checked in, the customer can go to the united.com Check-in tab, undo check-in, and begin the check-in process again to change the flight.
Outside 24 hours of ticketed flight:
- Changes need to be made by the original ticketing source.
- Exception: We understand customers may need to change flights when their travel agency is closed. If the agency will not be open in time to make the change, customers can contact United Reservations, even if it’s outside 24 hours of the original flight.
