Community Engaged Research Career Day Inspires Collaboration


The Community Engaged Research Career Day on April 19, 2025, at Cleveland State University, was jointly hosted by the CTSC Workforce Development and the Community Engaged Research Modules. The event brought together community health workers, researchers, and students for engaging panels and networking. Watch event highlights in the video below.

The 2025 Clinical & Translational Science (CTS) Research Program RFA is open!


The CTS Research Program seeks applications for 2-3 year pilot projects. The specific goal of the CTS Research Program is to support projects promoting overall health and reducing the burden of chronic illness through innovative technology.


Projects must involve multiple CTSC partners and address mid- to late-stage clinical research with measurable health outcomes. Funding ranges from $125,000 to $175,000 per year.

Lead with Confidence: Apply for the TIN Multicenter Clinical Trials Training


The Trial Innovation Network (TIN) is launching a training program for investigators and research project managers transitioning from single-site to multicenter clinical trials. This program is designed for clinical trial leaders—especially principal investigators and research managers—who are new to leading multicenter studies or have recently received funding.

Morgenthaler-Pavey Startup Competition: Research Track Winners


The Morgenthaler-Pavey Startup Competition, hosted by the CWRU Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship, lets students pitch their ideas for a share of $45,000 in four tracks: venture, idea, research, and social impact. This year, several CTSC Translational Fellow Program (TFP) fellows were among the finalists and winners, highlighting the role of CTSC in advancing translational research. Congratulations to all the innovative teams!

Implementation of Effective Hypertension Management Approaches (PCORI-Funded)


Dr. Anita Misra-Hebert, Cleveland Clinic site lead for the Clinical Translational Science Collaborative, has received a $1 million PCORI grant to improve hypertension care at 57 Northeast Ohio sites. The program will use virtual visits, home monitoring, and follow-ups to help patients better manage high blood pressure.

In this session Jared Durieux, PhD, and Jennifer Murphy, PhD from University Hospitals will explore the use of PICO (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome) framework to develop focused research questions, review essential clinical study designs, and see a live demonstration of applying PICO in the TriNetX platform to build a real-world clinical study.
