Up to four (4) awards ($25,000–$50,000 each) will be selected. Applications are due by December 1, 2025 via InfoReady.

Looking for study participants? The CTSC Research Volunteer Registry connects researchers with individuals interested in clinical and translational research. This secure resource includes both healthy volunteers and those with a variety of health backgrounds, making recruitment faster and more efficient. Researchers must have IRB approval and submit a request in SPARC; access is managed by the CTSC Recruitment Support team to ensure privacy and compliance.

Celebrating Collaboration:
Translational Science Week 2025
The CTSC of Northern Ohio marked its 18th anniversary during Translational Science Week 2025 with events showcasing regional collaboration and innovation. Highlights included the premiere of the Stories of Impact video series featuring CTSC K12 Scholar, Dr. Michael Fu, the CTSC Annual Pilot Technical Webinar and IRB Safety in Clinical Trials webinar, campus outreach at the University of Toledo and NEOMED, and the inaugural CTSC Recognition & Achievement Awards. The week concluded with the launch of a rural health pilot funding opportunity, underscoring CTSC’s dedication to advancing research and fostering community across Northern Ohio.

Applications Now Open:
Embedded Scholars Program
The CTSC is thrilled to launch the inaugural Embedded Scholars Program, designed to foster faculty development in community-engaged research (CER) and facilitate partnerships between academics and community organizations. Faculty members will work alongside their chosen community partner, forming a team to co-apply for the program. Scholars will receive dedicated support, including 10% effort funding for the academic lead and a $9,000 stipend for the community partner.

Community Engagement Studios:
Seeking Community Input for Your Research
Are you a researcher looking to gather valuable patient or community insights to strengthen your work? Community Engagement (CE) Studios offer an evidence-based consultative model—either in-person or virtually—to help inform study design, implementation, dissemination, and sustainability, while building community-academic partnerships. To prepare, you will create a 1-page overview, a 1-minute introductory video, and a brief presentation. Investigators may apply for a CTSC voucher ($7,500 for in-person or $6,775 for virtual studios) in SPARC.

Dr. Keith McCrae, 2025 Top 10 Clinical Research Forum Winner
Congratulations to Dr. Keith McCrae, Cleveland Clinic Professor of Molecular Medicine, who was nominated by the CTSC of Northern Ohio and selected among the Top 10 recipients of the 2025 Clinical Research Achievement Awards. His study, “Pomalidomide for Bleeding in Patients with Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia,” is transforming care for patients with rare vascular disorders.
