NEWS + ANNOUNCEMENTS + REMINDERS

Recognizing Graduates

On Sunday, May 18, 2025, during the morning worship services, we would like to honor all those graduating this year from high school, college, trade school, graduate school, and beyond! If you are a graduate, or you have a graduate in your family, please let the church office know by calling Natasha at 808-440-3004 or emailing news@centralunionchurch.org by noon on Monday, May 12, so we can celebrate their accomplishment together!

Share the graduate's name and photo, your relation, school/program graduating from, and any brief upcoming plans to be included in the bulletins. If the graduate will be attending church on the 18th, please let us know which service so we can honor them in person!

Service of Healing & Prayer

Come and discover a place of healing for your soul rooted in the traditions of the Scottish island of Iona where Celtic Christianity flourishes. The service will include music from the Taizé community, prayer, silence, and the ritual of the laying on of hands. Join us for this intimate and contemplative service on Sunday, May 18, at 5:30 PM in Atherton Memorial Chapel. It'll be the last Service of Healing & Prayer for the season.

Confirmation Celebration for youth

Combined Service for Confirmation Celebration

Join us on Sunday, June 1, 2025, to celebrate CUC's Youth Confirmation Class of 2025! We will come together for one combined worship service at 10 AM in the Sanctuary. Following the service, we will gather in the Women's Building to greet the youth confirmands and enjoy some refreshments. Please plan to come to support our youth who are taking a new step in their faith journey!

PRAY FOR OUR CHURCH

Give thanks for God's Limitless Grace, that we are loved no matter what.

Give thanks for our Young(ish) Adult Ministry, for opportunities (like Dinner Church) to build community among our younger folks.

As we celebrate Mothers' Day, give thanks for mothers and maternal bonds. Pray that we would not only show appreciation for mothers but also provide deep care for those who take on motherhood. Pray also for those who grieve on Mothers' Day.

Readers Needed for Worship!

Worship is one of the heartbeats of our church – it is the work of the whole church community in praising God, hearing God's word to us and responding in faith. One way to help each other in our worship is by reading scripture and other parts of our service. It enhances our experience of worship when we can have different faces and voices leading worship.

If you are willing to read in a worship service, please join our pool of readers! Learn more and sign up by clicking HERE.

Beware of Email Scams!

Scams come in many forms, whether it's someone impersonating church staff or even a member, or a stranger seeming to have a good deal for you on a special product or service. Please be cautious when checking emails! Know that church staff will never ask you to purchase something or give personal information by email. Often you can identify an email's authenticity by verifying the sender’s email address (CUC staff emails end with @centralunionchurch.org), but it's also possible for scammers to mimic email addresses. So if you receive any strange message at all and are ever in doubt, just delete it, don't reply or click on any links. You may call the church office (808-941-0957) to confirm.
