Soaring to new heights on CBI field trip
Mrs. Lyle, Mrs. Moore and Ms. Smith’s classes went on a Community Based Instruction trip to the West Georgia Regional Airport this week where they learned about how planes fly and how the airport operates.
CHS student receives honorable mention at Young Authors state competition
Carrollton High School sophomore Autumn Martin received an honorable mention for her work “Diane Dewitt’s Point of No Return” in the Young Georgia Authors state competition.

CJHS student receives prestigious scholarship cup
Carrollton Junior High School eighth-grader Rory Camp was awarded the prestigious CJHS Scholarship Cup on May 5 at the school's Academic Awards Night. This honor is presented to the eighth-grade student who has maintained the highest cumulative grade point average during their seventh and eighth-grade years. Rory is the son of Molly and Andy Camp of Carrollton. Pictured with Rory is principal Travis Thomaston. 
Up & Coming: Industrial engineer shifts focus to passion for design
In this ongoing series, we reach out to CHS alumni to learn what they are doing now that they have the advantage of experience, education and self-reflection. This month’s pick is Georgia Freels, Class of 2011. A strong academic student who also played soccer for the Lady Trojans and participated in performing arts, Georgia received her first experience working with manufacturing as a college intern at Southwire Company, laying the groundwork for a future career in industrial engineering and design.
