Friday, February 28th

Meet Chef Didier in Bordeaux, at “La Taverne du Midi”, a Café, across from the train station, around 2:30 pm

If you arrive early, have a bowl of fresh mussels with a Stella Artois and an expresso, I will probably be there myself for lunch. If you are late, the bus & I will wait for you.

 

Friday February 28th : ( D )

The TOUR begins

Leaving Bordeaux, with the bus, going to a 3 star Hotel, in Sarlat-La-Caneda, where we will stay for 3 nights as we visit that area Stop at Les Eyzies to see the Cro-Magnon Man (Les Eyzies-de-Tayac)

Look at La Roque Saint Christophe. 

Arrival at our hotel in Sarlat

 

Saturday, March 1st: ( B, L, D )

Visit of "Le Gouffre de Proumeyssac", called "The Cristal Cathedral", near the town of Rocamadour. 

Visit the 100 years old Magnificent Gardens of Marqueyssac

Lunch: Restaurant  Le Tourne Pique  In Castlenaud 

Visit Chateau Des Milandes and the life of Josephine Baker

Back to the hotel in Sarlat

 

Sunday March 2nd:    ( B, L )

Visit the medieval town and its markets. Many Geeses are loose participating in the atmosphere of the day, with music and many stalls with food & wines. There is a wonderful mass at 10 am.

Lunch is one of a kind with 14 courses of goose served in all different ways to celebrate that event attended by 1000 people from all over the world.

Dinner is at your leisure but after that 14-course lunch, we usually end up around 6 pm, at a local café when Chef buys some beers!

 

Monday, March 3rd: ( B, L, D )

Visit the Lascaux IV Caves.

Lunch at La  Laugerie Basse Les Eysies de Tayac

Viste “Maison Forte de Reignac”  24620 Tursac 

Arrive at Hotel Mercure for two nights in Perigueux

Stop a Bio-Coop et JardiLand a Chancelade

Dinner at : L’Etang des Reignats, Chancelade

 

Tuesday, March 4th: ( B, L )

Visit of a truffle farm, Mensignac   Lunch at : domaine des Truffieres, lieu dit de La Cote, 24310 Brantomme

Visite de Jardin de Abbeye de Brantomme. Les reposoirs

Back to Perigueux to visit the Cathedral Saint Front 5 pm

Evening at your leisure

 

Wednesday, March 5th: ( B, L, D )

Lunch in the old town of Périgueux

Visit: Clovis Reymond Distillery 49 Rue Gabriel Reymond, 24140 Villamblard. 

Going to our new hotel, for two evenings in Bergerac 

Dinner at a local Restaurant in Bergerac 

Back to the Hotel.  

 

Thursday, March 6th : ( B, L ) 

Visit of a Patisserie in Bergerac

Visit de Vins 

Lunch Mechoui 

Return to Bergerac

Visit a pied, old Bergerac, and the two Cyrano de Bergerac Statues by a local guide

IVBD (Interprofession of Bergerac and Duras Wines) 1 Rue des Récollets, 24100 Bergerac for a wine tasting. 

Return to the Hotel  in Bergerac  

Evening at your leisure in Bergerac 

 

 

Friday, March 7th :  ( B, L )

 

Visit & degustation of the wines of Lunch at Chateau Haut Sarthes. 196 Route de Puy Servain  33220 Port Saint Foy.  Arrive a 10h45. Lunch at this winery. On doit partir vers 13.h45 

Visit of underground Saint Emilion, its collegiate church, and its cloister Labas

Visit La Cite du Vin, on the banks of the Garonne River  


Arrive at Bordeaux Novotel Hotel 28-30 Rue Tauzia  33800 Bordeaux. 


Saturday March 8th :  ( B, L, D )

Mademoiselle Margaux Chocolate Boutique & Degustation of Chocolates.
