WHAT IS CULTIVATE?
Cultivate is the name of a 6-week care series for adults with dementia and caregivers with
Dementia 101 course led by Dr. Renee Brown Harmon. This series is offered through Founders Place at Saint Luke's Church.
“Cultivate” is a 6-week care series offered by Founders Place Community Respite at Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church. It is a weekly, 2-hour social program for adults with mild-moderate dementia and a concurrent “Dementia 101” course for caregivers. Capable and caring volunteers will engage with your loved one in a lively, safe, social setting with meaningful and fun activities including planting, creative movement, music and singing. You, the caregiver, will have a break from caregiving and receive essential learning and support in classes taught by Dr. Renee Brown Harmon, a dementia caregiver and author of “Surfing the Waves of Alzheimer’s”. “Cultivate” offers care, comfort and connection, as well as an opportunity to cultivate your skills as a caregiver for your loved one with dementia.
