Podcast for Wednesday, March 25 th
Pádraig Ó Tuama and Marilyn Nelson are beloved teachers to many; to bring them together was a delight and a balm. Nelson is a poet and professor and contemplative, an excavator of stories that would rather stay hidden yet lead us into new life. Ó Tuama is a poet, theologian, conflict mediator, and the host of our new podcast, Poetry Unbound. Together, they venture unexpectedly into the hospitable — and intriguingly universal — form of poetry that is prayer.
While CUMC’s services are off for the time being, Mike Maguire , organist and pianist, and Peter Hill , music director will be sharing music on the church’s Facebook page. Go to to find the music!

Our various Music Groups will be checking in with each other at our regular rehearsal times. We will stay connected, along with our other CUMC groups, until we are able to meet again and make beautiful music together.

For more information about CUMC Music and staying connected, contact Peter Hill at .

CANCELLED: Family Promise Host Week
March 29 – April 5
Family Promise will be hosting the families in a hotel during the week of March 29, our originally scheduled host week at CUMC. There may be some safe way we can help during that week, and Claudia Shaw will contact volunteers if that is the case. Meanwhile, we pray that the three families whose placement in permanent housing is imminent will be moved into their own apartments by then. No new Families will be brought into the program until the virus crisis has passed.

Many thanks to all the faithful supporters who were signed up to help during the host week before it was cancelled. You all were eager to help in any way, with soulful compassion for the families who suffer even more than most in difficult times.

Our next host week is November 8 through November 15. When we all convene once again at church, please visit the bulletin board outside Rodda Hall for news of the families and Family Promise programs.
Online Lenten Opportunity!
Podcast Spirituality
Wednesdays in Lent, 7:30-8:30 PM
Online via Facebook
There are so many ways the God is present in the world. There is wisdom that explicitly comes from the Christian tradition, and other wisdom that Christians need to learn from and appropriate that is not explicit to a faithful worldview. Each Wednesday in Lent, we will gather via Facebook and experience spiritual formation and discuss what we resonate with or want to explore more fully about various podcasts.
