What brought you to CUNY?

“My career path as an educator brought me to CUNY. I was hired right out of my Ph.D. program [University of Liverpool, U.K.], and the mission of CUNY is what really excited me about the position. Education is the foundation of a socially just and equitable society, and community colleges and CUNY help increase accessibility and access to education. I am glad to be a part of an institution with such a mission.”

What is the thing you most emphasize when you tell someone you work at CUNY?

“I tell people how lucky I am to be inspired every day that I go to work. My students inspire me in more ways than any professor ever did when I was in college.”
