The month of February represents many things, from National and American Heart month, to Black History and National Library month. What’s common among them all is the love of something or someone. God calls us to love one another as He has loved us.

Love tends to sprout at CUW as many of our students find their true love while attending here. We have thousands of CUW couples who either met while attending CUW or connected afterward. Part of the reason could be the uncommon values they share. Concordia Educator Alumni Announced Among LEA Honorees 

Brian Betts (2014), principal at Immanuel Lutheran School in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., was named the 2019 Distinguished Lutheran Elementary Administrator. Science and technology teacher Jonathan Bolt (2015) received the Distinguished Lutheran Middle School Teacher Award for his work at Central Lutheran School in New Haven, Ind. Stacy Hoeft (1996), president and chief executive officer of Lutheran Special Education Ministries in Farmington Hills, Mich, received LEA’s top honor, the Christus Magister Award. And double alumna Dauna Werner (1987, 2004) was selected to receive the Distinguished Early Childhood Teacher Award for her work at St. Paul Lutheran in Grafton, Wis. Annual Waterpark Weekend
May 3-5
Mark your calendars for the ever-popular Waterpark Weekend at the Wilderness Hotel and Golf Resort in the Wisconsin Dells. Rooms are only $119.99 per night (plus taxes and resort fees) for four guests. There is an extra charge for additional guests. Saturday night stays require 2-night minimum. Volunteer Opportunities
 April and May
Throughout the year, we have opportunities for alumni to give back by volunteering their time to help future Concordians. All volunteers receive a free alumni t-shirt to wear at the event. Please consider serving at our Admitted Student Day, April 6th, or for the graduation staging prior to the commencement on May 17 or May 18. Business Scholars Reception & MBA Industry Leader Series
April 16
Plans are underway to celebrate our Business Scholars alumni and current students. A special reception will take place in conjunction with the MBA Industry Leaders seminar on April 16. It will be an opportunity to connect with other Business Scholars alumni and current students. More details will be sent to you in the coming month.

The Batterman School of Business recently kicked off its 4th annual MBA Industry Leaders Seminar, which brings industry experts to campus to speak on a variety of business leadership topics. The events are free and open to the CUW community and public. Seminars will take place in the Pharmacy Building Lecture Hall (Room 008). Click here for more information on the speakers series
Opportunity to Connect with Students

Please join us for a night of networking and fine dining with CUW students and alumni at the annual Etiquette Dinner. This event will be held on April 17 from 5 to 7:30 pm in the student union. Attention Genesis Pharmacy Class! Plans are underway to celebrate five years since your graduation from pharmacy school. The reunion will kick off with a reception for you to re-connect with your classmates and professors. It will continue with CE opportunities, dinner, a Chinooks game , and other area activities.

Book Donations

In honor of Black History Month, the Black Student Union is hosting a book drive to raise awareness of African American authors and African American content. You can support this mission in several ways: 1) Purchase a book by an African American author or a book that features African American content, 2) Donate a gently used book, and 3) Make a financial donation to cover the cost of a book.
