CVBIA Update: March 26, 2020
Economic update, useful links,
blood and mask donations

In a Town Hall meeting earlier today, NAHB chief economist Robert Dietz forecast an eight-week pause for the economy, with weak mid-year economic performance and a rebound in the fourth quarter. The housing sector, as it has historically, is expected to be a major leader in the economic recovery. Click here for Dietz' full presentation.

Also discussed was the $2 trillion coronavirus relief package , which is expected to be approved by the House tomorrow. NAHB is analyzing the package's impact on all sectors of the housing industry, including multifamily, and will be releasing that information as soon as possible.

Members are urged to fill out the weekly NAHB survey, How is Coronavirus Affecting Your Business , by clicking here .

HBAV reminds members that although the construction industry remains operational at the current time, no one should be conducting business as usual.

It's critical for every member to follow CDC and government guidelines in keeping employees, clients and the general public safe. Not doing so could jeopardize the industry's status as an essential business.

You'll find links to a wide range of health, business and human resource information on the CVBIA , HBAV and NAHB web sites.

As CVBIA continues to receive updates and information on things that affect your business, we'll share those with you in these Updates, as well as on the association web site .

Best regards,
Ryan Rose, CVBIA President
