President of Central Viera Community Association

It’s February, so, of course I can’t resist a “Love Where You Live” President’s Corner. But, this time, with a twist. As some of you know, there has been a community-wide conflict lately over the actions of a certain neighborhood HOA. I have received multiple emails and phone calls on the issue so I wanted to use my “air time” this month to talk about how to deal with negativity in your neighborhood. Chelsea Payne,

Community Management Coordinator

Volunteering is the heartbeat of any thriving community, and Brevard County is no exception. Numerous non-profit organizations in our area offer opportunities for residents to contribute their time and talents, enriching both the community and their own lives. This month, I want to highlight several local non-profits in our local area where your involvement can make a significant impact.

Brevard Achievement Center

Supporting individuals with disabilities, the Brevard Achievement Center offers programs that promote independence and personal success. Volunteers can engage in various activities, including job coaching, arts programs, and recreational events. (bacemploy.com)

Brevard Zoo / East Coast Zoological Society of Florida Inc.

Turn your passion for animals and conservation into action at the Brevard Zoo. Volunteers engage in various roles, from educational programs to special events, all aimed at promoting wildlife conservation and education. Whether you’re an adult or a teen, there’s a place for you to make a difference. (brevardzoo.org)

Brevard Humane Society

Committed to protecting and providing for animals in need, the Humane Society offers volunteer roles in animal care, thrift store operations, and fundraising events.
