First, some important announcements:
Our new Christmas series LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS is one of the most important in our recent history. The darkness of evil can be seen and heard every day in those who reject God, His Son Jesus, His people the church, and who reject our nation which God has used mightily since its founding. Satan attacks God’s people using anger, rage, bitterness, resentment, and hatred. Ultimately these lead to unforgiveness, and nothing destroys your soul faster than the darkness of unforgiveness.
In the majestic hymn that opens John's gospel, we read: “The light (Jesus) shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot ever overcome it.” Just like a tiny candle rids a roomful of darkness, F. F. Bruce writes that “Light and darkness are opposites, but they are not opposites of equal power. Light is stronger than darkness; darkness cannot prevail against it.” Tomorrow, we'll unpack exactly how to apply the forgiveness that Jesus provides through His life, death, and resurrection.
You will learn how to forgive anyone who has sinned against you. You will learn how to identify the darkness that unforgiveness creates when hurts actually turn into darkness. You will learn how to choose a lifestyle of forgiveness--the only way to break the power of unforgiveness. Tomorrow could be one of the most powerful Sundays ever at CVCHURCH, just in time for you to enjoy everything God has for you this Christmas.
