New rules for walkers and bikers sharing the paths.
CVE Master Management has a new set of rules covering how walkers and bikers need to share the village’s mixed-use paths. The rules are a combination of reiterating existing laws for bicycles as well as suggestions on how both bikers and walkers should govern themselves.

The new protocols coincide with the addition of new yellow striping down the center of the paths along Century Boulevard. The new markings are intended to mimic roadway striping to encourage users (both on foot as well as on bikes) to stay to the right when on the paths.

New procedures in response to resident requests
We listened!

In response to resident requests, we are now performing weekly pest control on our buses.

Thank you to the residents that brought this to our attention. We are always working to improve services. If there is something you believe needs to be addressed, please never hesitate to stop by our office or give us a call.
Summer improvements off to a fast start
The CVE Master Management summer project calendar is filled to the brim, and work is now underway.

After seven years, last year marked the end of our village-wide repaving capital improvement project. But that only means we are ready to take on new projects this summer:

  • The beautiful new paver path between Grantham and the Clubhouse is already finished.

  • Our bi-annual new plantings, tree trimming, and hedge trimming is finished.

  • The striping of the paths around the village is complete (More on that above!)

  • Installing a new storm drain at Lyndhurst Dr. & Century Blvd (next to north pool).

  • Resurfacing all three Tilford tennis courts.

  • Beautification with the addition of more utility wraps around the village.

  • Pressure cleaning of sidewalks, ADA pads (the yellow pads on the ends of the walkways), crosswalks, and bus benches.

  • Maintenance of all lake fountains (with two new fountains coming in 2024).

  • Work on the new CVE Central Park, including the installation of new irrigation lines.

We are working with FPL on the replacement of street lights in the village this summer. We are also working with Comcast on the removal of old equipment boxes in the village. Finally, we are moving forward with the new main guardhouse as well over the summer.

We will do what we can to make sure you don't miss your bus
Our bus schedules are designed to make transfers at the Clubhouse from one route to another as easy as possible. Sometimes, however, traffic outside the village may delay the return of a particular bus.

When this happens, our dispatchers are in communication with the drivers to determine how much of a delay to expect. If the delay is only about eight minutes or less, we will hold the next bus so you don't miss your transfer. If however, the driver indicates it may be a longer delay returning to the Village, we will release the second bus and invite you to wait inside the Clubhouse until the route returns.

The main reason is that it is easier to wait for another bus in the air conditioned Clubhouse than to wait in the heat in the Village. Our goal is to pick up passengers inside the Village as quickly as possible.
Watch your speed in CVE
We are continually working to encourage safe driving in the Village. Two new radar speed signs have been installed in the Tilford area. They are located near Tilford B. Remember, the speed limit through Tilford is ONLY 15 MPH! Make sure you obey the signs.

Don't forget the Broward Sheriff's Office is constantly in the Village using radar to monitor drivers. If you exceed the speed limits, expect to be stopped and provided with an expensive reminder.
From the Executive Director
Proud of the 'Safe Wheels' program
When it comes to caring about resident safety, we go beyond providing services.

Our transportation company, Transdev, recently changed the life of one of our residents as part of its "Safe Wheels" program.

If you ride the buses you know that our drivers get to know our residents, and our residents get to know them. So when a driver sees a resident in need, they often want to reach out and help. That is what "Safe Wheels" is all about.

After noticing one of our residents struggling with an old wheelchair, our driver recommended she receive a new, free wheelchair. As part of Transdev's "Safe Wheels" program, the resident was given a new wheelchair.

Kudos to Transdev and our drivers for going above and beyond to help one of our residents.

Meanwhile, I want to wish all the fathers out there a Happy Father's Day this month. In addition, a reminder that the Master Management office will be closed on Monday, June 19th in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.

I hope to see you at our last CVE Master Management Board of Directors meeting of the season on June 15th at 9:30am in Activity Center rooms A and B.

Be well. Stay Safe.
