FROM THE BOARD:
We are looking for a parent of a Junior student at Carnegie who would like to be the Grade Level Parent Representative.
Grade Level Parent Reps is a new position at Carnegie designed to make enhance the Carnegie Community Spirit.
We envision the Grade Level Rep Position to include:
- Plans fun and fundraising activities for their grade.
- Coordinates with VP of Volunteers (me) to recruit parent volunteers at grade level to help plan and work at fun and fundraising activities
- Funds raised should be banked to pay for both the current year and future years - especially the Class Senior Year
- Set up regular (monthly, biweekly) Parent Social meetings either via Zoom or in person if Covid permits.
- Set up grade level Facebook Group
- Attend Exec Board Meetings every month

VIPS - Volunteers
All volunteers, both virtual and in-person, must complete an online orientation/training module in order to register to volunteer at HISD schools. Please print your completion certificate at the end of your orientation session and give permission for background check. The online approval process is very quick (about 24-48 hours). After receiving the VIPS approval email notification, you will need to bring your online VIPS Orientation completion certificate and a copy of your driver's license to your school to complete the process. ADDRESSING THE BOARD AT BOARD MEETINGS
The Board of Education welcomes members of the community to speak on subjects related to the school district. Community members can address the board in one of two ways:
Speakers to Agenda Items - During any board meeting, people may speak about items on the agenda for that meeting.
Hearing of the Community - During the regular monthly board meeting, people may speak about a district-related subject not covered by an item on the meeting agenda.
To comply with state and local requirements during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, and to protect the health of our community, the Hattie Mae White Administration Building is closed and board meetings are being conducted on line.
