Hello, Colt families!

Student Parking Update

The student parking area between the football stadium and the guard rail is currently closed due to the next phase of the stadium construction project. During this closure, student drivers will be permitted to park along the fence starting at the guard rail. To ensure the safety of all during afternoon dismissal, student drivers are required to wait until all buses have departed before pulling out of their parking space. Students who are assigned to the overflow parking area in the lower middle school lot are reminded to arrive prior to 7:20 and park in the designated area.

World Kindness Day

Monday, November 13 is World Kindness Day!  We encourage everyone to start the week off by performing acts of kindness and participating in a theme day to promote kindness.  Wear a shirt promoting kindness or a cardigan in honor of Mr. Rogers, who always taught the importance of being kind.

Veterans Day Flag-Raising

On Friday, November 10, the high school held the 20th annual Flag-Raising ceremony in honor of Veterans Day. Thanks to all of our veterans who attended the ceremony.

Dear Chartiers Valley,

I hope this message finds you well.  We are now in full swing of the school year.  The first nine weeks have passed, our fall sports season has concluded, and we are entering a time traditionally of family and giving thanks.  I would be remiss if I didn't mention that that it is one of my favorite times of the year, celebrating two important events: Kindness Day and Thanksgiving.

First, Kindness Day, which is today, November 13, serves as a reminder of the powerful impact that kindness can have in our lives. It's a day when we celebrate the small acts of compassion and generosity that make our school district a nurturing and inclusive environment.

As we approach Thanksgiving, a time when we come together to give thanks for the blessings in our lives, I want to express my deep gratitude for the support, dedication, and hard work of our students, teachers, staff, parents, and the entire community. It is through your collective efforts that we continue to provide an exceptional education and a safe, nurturing environment for our students.

Additionally, I am humbled and honored to share some exciting news with you all. I have been nominated as an American School Superintendents Association (ASSA) Superintendent nominee. Also, this upcoming December, I am thrilled to be inducted into the University of Pittsburgh Superintendent's Forum. These recognitions are a testament to our school district's collaborative spirit and commitment to excellence in education. I look forward to representing our community at the forum and sharing the invaluable insights and experiences I gained with you.

I am genuinely thankful for the privilege of serving as your school superintendent and the incredible support we receive from all of you. Together, we are making a positive difference in the lives of our students, and I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.

I wish you all a heartwarming Kindness Day and a joyous Thanksgiving holiday. May this season be a time of reflection, appreciation, and renewed commitment to the values that make our community great.

Warm regards,

Johannah Vanatta, EdD.

Superintendent
