2024 English Festival for CVMS - Grades 7-9
CVMS students in grades 7-9 are invited to participate in the English Festival sponsored by Ms. Bouch (English 8, Teal House) and hosted by the Western Pennsylvania Council of Teachers of English (WPCTE). English Festival is a battle-of-the-books type competition that takes place against other schools and includes a live presentation from an author of one of the books used in the event. Students participate in teams of 3-5 in grades 7-9.
Students prepare for the event by reading the books and discussing with their teams. There are also pre-festival team and individual contests. As of now, there will not be any meetings with 9th graders; participants are expected to prepare on their own/with their team.
The event for 7th-9th graders is on Wednesday, May 15 at La Roche University. Permission forms and participation fee are due by Friday, January 12. We look forward to having many students participate in this wonderful reading opportunity!
Ms. Bouch will communicate with students via their school email. Please email Ms. Bouch with any questions: [email protected].
