Dr. Scott Weese

J. Scott Weese, DVM, DVSc, DipACVIM, is a veterinary internist and microbiologist, and a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. He is a Professor at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph and a Zoonotic Disease/Public health Microbiologist at the University of Guelph’s Centre for Public Health and Zoonoses. He is also Chief of Infection Control at the Ontario Veterinary College Teaching Hospital and holds a Canada Research Chair in zoonotic diseases. 
Mr. Douglas Jack

Mr. Jack has a wealth of experience in corporate commercial and administrative law. He regularly assists clients with:
  • mergers and acquisitions
  • secured financing
  • commercial governance agreements
  • regulatory compliance issues
  • complaints and discipline matters

Under Doug’s leadership, BLG is the only national law firm providing dedicated legal services to veterinary professionals. He advises veterinarians on matters including:
  • the purchase and sale of clinics

Dr. Louis Kwantes

Dr. Louis Kwantes' educational background includes grade school in Japan, college in United States, veterinary school in Canada (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine 1987) and post-DVM studies in the United Kingdom (Master of Science 1989). Dr. Kwantes is the CVMA President is presently employed by National Veterinary Associates as a veterinarian at Park Veterinary Centre in Sherwood Park (a companion animal veterinary clinic he founded with his business partner in 1997). He is a past board member of the Edmonton Veterinary Emergency Clinic, and past president of the Edmonton Area Small Animal Veterinarians group. He has also served the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association for more than 12 years in a variety of capacities including a term as president in 2015.
