If you’re a CEO/ Executive Director of a service providing organization (not grantmaking organization), we’d love for you to join our CEO Network!

The purpose of this network is to build stronger relationships, explore new partnerships, share expertise and solve community issues. There will not be a formal agenda or presentation. You, as CEOs, will build the agenda the day of the meeting to address pertinent & timely topics.

The Cedar Valley Nonprofit’s annual conversation with our elected officials is a great opportunity to let your voice be heard directly by those representing the greater Cedar Valley. The event is timed just prior to the legislative session and it offers a chance to have real conversations about decisions that are being discussed in Des Moines and how they have impacts on the daily lives of Black Hawk County representatives. Presented in an intimate format, the annual Legislative Forum helps keep our representatives informed about the nonprofit sector and the people we serve. It’s a don’t miss event!

NLA Request for Proposals

The Nonprofit Leadership Alliance (NLA) is a program in the Department of Recreation, Tourism, and Nonprofit Leadership (RTNL) that helps students earn their Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) credential. As a part of our course in the spring NLA works with local nonprofits to complete service-learning projects. Currently we are requesting proposals of semester long service-learning projects.  If you have a service-learning idea or are interested in more information please read the attached form.

The Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley’s (VCCV) main goal is to promote and support effective volunteerism! Through partnership with hundreds of community organizations and events, the VCCV provides resources, leaderships, and training opportunities to assist organizations in leveraging volunteer’s time and talents to build the important mission work of the sector.
The VCCV regularly leads the VALU trainings as a way for volunteer engagement professionals to network with one another, share best practices, hone their skills, and learn about new and innovative ways to build opportunities and grow volunteer programs.

Worth-A-Shot - Newly Launched Nonprofit in the Cedar Valley!

Worth-A-Shot is a new independent, nonpolitical nonprofit that provides up to $100 each to newly vaccinated individuals to offset certain expenses related to vaccination or routine side effects expected after vaccination (such as lost wages, childcare, or transportation). We are specifically and exclusively targeting individuals who already want to get vaccinated but have financial barriers to doing so.

Volunteers Needed - Do a lot of good in a short amount of time!

Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging’s nutrition program is in need of volunteers to deliver meals to home-bound seniors in Cedar Falls. Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. (approximate time commitment is 1 to 1 ½ hours). Meals are picked up at the Cedar Falls Community Center (528 Main Street, Cedar Falls). You pick when you would like to volunteer – once or twice a week or a few times a month. Our volunteers are not “just” delivering a hot, nutritious meal but providing a friendly face and human contact to those who might not necessarily receive one on a daily basis.

Social justice is complicated. No matter what your personal, professional or community roles are, the topic is difficult to pin down. Accounting Associate

The Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa (CFNEIA) is seeking a part-time (.5 FTE) accounting associate with solid experience in systems data entry and reporting who is eager to be part of an inclusive workplace and a mission that inspires people and connects resources to enrich communities across northeast Iowa. The person in this position should have a keen attention to detail and is responsible for daily gift batch entry, weekly check disbursement preparation, monthly investment account reconciliations, and various internal and external report generation.
