Special announcement: You're invited!

You're Invited to the Third Annual Cedar Valley
GET A BEER*
&
UNDO NONPROFIT POWER DYNAMICS DAY!
When: Wednesday, Sept. 4
Time: 4:30-6:00pm
Place: Iron Horse
(Next to the Blue Iguana in the Tech Works building in Waterloo)
Cedar Valley nonprofits and members of Metro Funders will come together for an informal, and unscripted, gathering. This idea, first created by nonprofit guru Vu Le, is being embraced by funders across the country. The idea is that funders and agency representatives can, as Le says
"see each other as human beings, and help decrease the power dynamics so present in our sector." There's only one rule: no agendas!
Please stop by, meet and mingle with funders and nonprofit representatives, enjoy some appetizers provided by Metro Funders, and grab your own BEER (which stands for "Beverage to Enhance Equity in Relationships," and does not have to be alcoholic).
You can read Le's original proposal on his blog,
Nonprofit AF.

Created with a volunteer board member perspective in mind, this interactive session provides participants with strategies and tactics that can eliminate the fear of
asking
and get more people engaged in
raising
dollars for your nonprofit. Join us to explore just how easy it can be to make "the ask," and encourage others to join you in the effort.

This session will outline various ways nonprofit organizations can connect with faculty and students at UNI to form partnerships for projects, focusing specifically on partnerships for marketing purposes.
