Conejo Valley Youth Orchestras
May, 2020 Newsletter
Dear CVYO Musicians and Parents,
Since the lockdown began, the CVYO board and staff have been carefully considering how to continue with the remainder of the 2019-2020 concert season. Originally, it was decided that if all restrictions were lifted and our rehearsal space and the theatre were open by Thursday, May 14th, we would resume rehearsals and perform on June 7th.

However, with the information we've received from health authorities, our rehearsal space, and the Bank of America Performing Arts Center, it has become clear that it is not possible to hold "American Rhapsody" on June 7th. (A special shout out to Jishnu, flute in the Preparatory Orchestra, for this wonderful artwork!)

While this news saddens all of us, our focus now is to look forward to CVYO's 60th Anniversary Concert Season! CVYO will be releasing a new look and logo and the music will no-doubt, be better than ever. We cannot wait!

Our conductors will continue to connect with our musicians remotely, and we are looking forward to summer auditions. (either in-person or via the internet)

The Coronavirus has taken a toll on all of us personally, and on our beloved organization. Our hearts go out to every one of you, and especially to our graduating Seniors. Please look for Facebook and Instagram posts celebrating our 22 Graduates over the upcoming weeks. And Seniors...look for a special surprise coming your way!
Tax Deductible Donation Receipts are Available
CVYO runs semester to semester with its income and expenses. When not in session, our fixed expenses still exist. For this reason, we are unable to give tuition refunds for the spring semester. One way we have decided to help is by issuing tax deductible donation receipts for the value of the rehearsals we were forced to cancel, plus your fundraising donation if you did not participate in the semester fundraising. Please click the appropriate link below to print out your tax deductible donation receipt.

This is a difficult time for all of us. Some more than others. Please know that no eligible musician is ever turned away because of financial hardship.
