Mary became a CWBA member on May 1, 1978, becoming one of the founding mothers of the CWBA and serving on our very first board of directors. She was an active paid member until the day she died at age 96. Mary was honored with the CWBA's Mary Lathrop Trailblazer Award in 1997, along with Cathlin Donnell. In 2007, the CWBA Foundation recognized the CWBA's Founding Mothers (including Mary) with its "Raising The Bar" Award. She was also a long-time supporter of the CWBA Foundation's Circle of Minerva.
Mary was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, an inspiring role model, a path-breaking attorney, and a diehard Rockies fan. Mary and Don were married for nearly 63 years before he passed away in 2012 at age 90. Mary leaves behind four successful children and 12 wonderful grandchildren.
She also leaves behind a powerful legacy, from a life full of love and deep friendships and an unwavering commitment to the causes to which she devoted her formidable energy, talents, courage, and wisdom.
THANK YOU, MARY!
