Hello everyone!
A few things to highlight for you today...

The Elevating Business Series - our new professional development event series, that we are co-creating with Peter from Simplifying Entrepreneurship. This series will feature interactive, roundtable monthly sessions on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 8:30 to 10:00am, starting on February 18, on a variety of topics, that you have helped us to pick! Each session will be designed with three possible outcomes in mind - make you money, save you money, and/or improve your leadership skills. Topics include: Confidence in Communication, Negotiation, Building Your Messaging, Company Culture and Team Structure, Productivity Tips and Tools, and more! To register and for all the details, click here!
-
2021 Awards of Excellence - nominations have LAUNCHED and will be open until March 7. Please have a look at the categories, and consider nominating or self-nominating a deserving individual, business, organization, or group. I am writing this following our AOE committee meeting, and we are working furiously to come up with an event plan for this year that we can go all-in on and *know* can happen! Mark your calendars for the week of June 14 and stay tuned for all the details, and in the meantime, nominate, nominate, nominate!
The Shop Local Centre Wellington Coupon Book - this project is going ahead (made possible by financial support through the federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) and the Government of Ontario), and more details will be in your inbox tomorrow! We are so excited about this - the publication will reach over 12,500 households and businesses, and will be FREE for businesses to participate in. You will be able to participate in one of two ways - a coupon, or business-card sized ad. Watch for tomorrow's launch, limited space is available!
This week, the Ontario Chamber Network, on behalf of Ontario businesses, collectively wrote to the Premier so that when the time comes businesses of all sizes have a predictable and coordinated effort to ensure society reopens in a harmonized fashion that prioritizes individual safety as well as economic stability. We asked, and will continue to advocate for, a readiness plan with a focus on sectors and regions hardest hit, advanced notice, and clear guidelines, among other things. To review and/or share the letter and social media campaign, click here.
I hope everyone is staying safe and that we can see you all soon!
Sally
