When asked what the ministry goal is for Christian World Outreach, our response is to share the Gospel as Jesus did. As we read through the Gospels, we see Him minister to those who were hungry, who needed healing, who were shunned by others and sinners. His compassion for others led to action. So too does our compassion move us to action. These actions open up the door to share that our compassion comes from the love God has shown to us by sending His son to die for each of us.

And Jesus called His disciples to Him and said, “I feel compassion for the people, because they have remained with Me now for three days and have nothing to eat, I do not want to send them away hungry, for they might faint on the way." Matthew 15:32

Our main goal is to feed people spiritually by sharing the Gospel and discipling people but it is hard to listen when your stomach is hurting because of hunger. At the Village of Opportunity in Burkina Faso, we use the Farm and Chicken Projects to feed the students and as a learning experience. It was exciting to see recently that they were able to can tomatoes for future use in feeding the young ladies. Our hope is that what they learn while working on the Farm Project and caring for the chickens will help them in the future as they feed their families.

The Children’s Feeding Program at the CWO headquarters in Haiti has been feeding children for many years. While the children wait for their meal to be served Johane leads them in songs, prayer and learning Bible verses. She also gives a Bible lesson. Whenever attending the CWO Port-au-Prince church it is great to see some of the young people who received food years ago now participating in the church service.

Our newest ministry in Sri Lanka has begun to assist seven families who do not have enough food on a regular basis. Feeding these families has opened the door for Bavan to build a relationship with them and gave him the opportunity to share Christ’s love with them. As this ministry grows our hope is that these families will accept Christ and be disciple makers in their village.

The vulnerable children in the Zimbabwe Our Kids Program have lost one or both parents. The single parents or caregivers many times need assistance with the children under their care. Part of this assistance can be providing food which helps develop healthy children that can grow and learn to hopefully be Christian leaders in their communities someday. Because of some generous donors we have also been able to assist the pastors that have participated in Leadership Development. The shutdown caused by COVID has made the difficult lives they lead even more difficult.

Our hope is that feeding these people physically will give us the opportunity to feed them spiritually. Thank you for praying for us as we work with the leaders of these ministries and for the financial support that makes it possible.
