Yoder Update - August 2025

Having been teachers, we are always excited to hear how God is using Christian World Outreach (CWO) to reach children for the Lord. Hearing how God is working as children are fed, educated and counseled has been a blessing. We pray that these children will become Godly leaders in their homes, communities and countries.

Yvrose had prepared the food for the Children’s Feeding Program in LaJuene, Haiti. Each child was served a hot meal. Shouby, a 7-year-old girl who was receiving a meal, did not eat her food and neither did she drink her juice. Marie St Amour observed that Choudeline took a container and put Shouby’s food into it. She also pulled out an empty bottle and poured the juice into it. Marie did not understand why Shouby would do this so she called her over away from the group of children. Marie asked her why she did not eat her food and drink her juice. Shouby answered, “My two brothers shared their food with me and I am taking my food and drink home for my mother who has not eaten since morning."

The Men Molding Men Camps is part of the Single Moms Raising Sons (SMRS) in South Africa. These camps help the boys who are being raised by single moms learn about Jesus and Godly characteristic. Mentors at the camps lead them in sessions and activities that help them become young men of faith and good character. They also meet new friends they consider brothers who they can relate to because of their family situation. We recently held camps in Durban and Johannesburg.

Sfundo commented, “When we got to camp, I met my older brothers which were my fellow campers at camp and met new brothers.  The mentors told us to brush our teeth and wash our faces.  They taught us about good hygiene. We also got plenty of exercise and had good food. We learned about joy, trust and generosity.  We played a lot of games and played soccer as well. There was also a dog that could play soccer at camp.”

Banele told us, “I was so happy to go back to camp because it is such a great experience.  I could not contain my excitement. I could not wait to see my friend Jaden and eat all the nice food at camp.  We got to play so many games and we had a very fun soccer match with the mentors, which we won.  We also got to learn about trust and joy and we learned about values and why it is important to pray to God.”

Bavan organized a one-day event for the children in the After School Program in Sri Lanka. This program provides tutoring for children and provides them a nutritious meal. Teachers use Bible stories and songs to share the Gospel with the children. The event Bavan held was attended by around 30 children. Bavan and the team shared the Gospel, taught them songs, played games and also served them a lunch. The children had a great time.

We have been praying for the government’s clearance documents for the Tongogara Refugee Camp children so they could be a part of the Our Kids Program (OK) in Zimbabwe. Being part of the OK Program means they could receive assistance to pay school fees, food assistance, medical care and other benefits. The children at the camp were eager to be a part of the program. The clearance has finally been received and the children from Tongogara Refuge Camp are excited to now be enrolled in the Our Kids program.  All the refugee children dropped out of school due to lack of money for their school fees. Duma commented, “I never imagined that I would go back to school and complete my high school. After grade 7, I was starting to look for a job as a maid.” We are so excited that this group of children are part of the OK Program and that Duma and others’ dream of going to school is being fulfilled.

Thank you for praying and for supporting financially.

  • For the teachers and other ministry leaders who love the Lord and want to share the Gospel with the children.
  • The safety of the children as they participate in the CWO ministries.
