Yoder Update - December 2025

Paul wrote in Acts 20:35, “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said, “It is better to give than to receive.”

The word receive is mentioned about 175 times in the Bible while the word give is mentioned around 2,160 times. It is a blessing to give and it reflects God’s character of giving that we celebrate at this time of year. God gave the greatest gift of all time and a gift we can share with others.

We usually end our letters by thanking you for the time you pray for us, encourage us and for giving financially as we serve with Christian World Outreach (CWO). We want and need to start by thanking you. We have been so blessed to have such a great group of people who have supported us over the past 20 years. Thank you for being such great examples of God’s giving and love for all or part of our ministry during these years.

The mission of CWO is to share the Gospel with those we serve in Burkina Faso, Haiti, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. Giving food, medical care, education and many other ways of caring are avenues we use to give us the opportunity to share the Gospel. This time of year, we especially share gifts with some of those we serve.

Alassane and Dina bless the young ladies at the Village of Opportunity with a small gift of food that they can take back to their families during Christmas break. As the young ladies go back to their villages with this gift, they will be able to share about God’s gift He gave. We pray that they will be bold as they share the Gospel with their families and that those that hear will be receptive.

A special Christmas meal will be given to the Children’s Feeding Program children in Port-au-Prince and LaJeune, Haiti. This is a great time to reinforce what they have been taught throughout the year when they come for meals. We are trusting that these young hearts will accept the gift God has given and grow to be Godly men and women who share the Gospel with their families and friends.

The children who attend the After School Program in Sri Lanka will also be given gifts this year. The gifts will be items they can use for school and other items they might need like a good pair of shoes. They will also participate in a Christmas program for their families who are mostly Buddhist and Hindu. The parents of these children see how we care for these children. We pray that they will be receptive to the Gospel as their children go home and tell the Bible stories they have learned and as they hear the Christmas story during the Christmas program.

Christmas hampers (baskets) are given to the Our Kids Program children and their caregivers in Zimbabwe. We call this Project Smile because it brings a smile on the faces of the children and their caregivers when they are given the Christmas hampers of food. We plan to give out 300 Christmas hampers this year. As the staff deliver the hampers, they are able to encourage the caregivers and tell the reason we give these gifts is because we are celebrating the birth of our Savior. We hope that giving these hampers show God’s love.

Thank you again for giving of your time to pray for us and giving financial as we continue serving with CWO. We are looking forward to 2026 and seeing how God works this coming year.

We wish you a Merry Christmas as you celebrate God’s gift of Jesus.
