Yoder Update - November 2024

We have a lot to be thankful this year as we look back at the activities of the year.

We are thankful for God’s protection of CWO’s ministry leadership and staff despite some difficult times. Burkina Faso survived another coup attempt, but extremists have continued to attack villages which have displace thousands of people. Haitian gangs continue to attack neighborhoods, kidnap people and other acts of violence displacing thousands from their homes in Port-au-Prince. South Africa, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe survived presidential elections. Through all of this God has been good keeping CWO’s leadership and staff safe as they keep advancing ministry.

We are thankful for God’s provision for the ministries as costs continue to increase in many of the countries where we serve. The inflation rate seems to increase monthly where CWO ministers but we have been able to keep up with the ministry expenses because of faithful donors. We have even been able to send relief funds to Burkina and Haiti to help those affected by the issues there. We are thankful for the faithful financial supporters.

As always, we are thankful for the great ministry leaders who love the Lord and serve Him faithfully. Alassane and Dina continue to serve and care for the young ladies who come to the Village of Opportunity in Burkina. Joel and Marie invest in the staff that keep the ministry going in Haiti and the pastors who lead the CWO churches. Thembi and her son Solami have developed relationships helping single moms and their sons. Rajeeve disciples Bavan, Sunil and Gayan so they can disciple others in Sri Lanka. Onias and Winnie continue to train leaders and help vulnerable children in Zimbabwe. God has truly blessed CWO with great ministry leaders in each of the countries.

We have always been thankful for the times we can spend time with the CWO leaders and be a part of their personal lives. Greg is thankful for the opportunity to be in a weekly Bible study with Rajeeve. Sharing a meal with Solami and his fiancé while in South Africa gave Greg time to hear about their future plans. We are thankful for the time we could be with Joel and Marie while we were in Michigan, sharing about the Haiti ministry. Attending the Judith’s wedding, Onias and Winnie’s daughter, was very special. We are thankful we have times we can enjoy life together with the CWO leaders.

We are thankful for the opportunities we have had to share about the work God is doing through CWO. This year we have been able to travel visiting those who support the ministry in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Florida. These trips have also given us the opportunity to introduce CWO to some people new to the ministry. We are thankful for these times which are always special as we renew relationships and build new ones.

We are very thankful for you and your prayer and financial support. The cards we have received have been a great encouragement. The calls asking about the ministry are also encouraging because these tell us you care about what is going on. We know your prayers are answered as God continues to bless us as we serve.
