Information about preparing for college
  • Keep track of your credits, no matter where you earn them. Credit Tracking Form
  • CWU CiHS students, if they choose to attend Central after high school graduation, can waive the application fee.
  • If CWU CiHS students maintain a B average (or better) in their CWU classes, they will automatically earn the $500 Early Scholar Merit Scholarship!
  • Get your transcripts - Official, to transfer credits, and Unofficial, for advising.
  • Check in with Admissions (at any college) and get an academic advisor

To transfer your CWU credits so they apply to another college:
  • Contact the CWU Registrar and request an official transcript
  • Know where you want it sent and have a payment card handy
  • Follow up with your chosen college, ensuring the transcript has arrived and credits are transferred (as your academic advisor indicated)

To reach the CWU Registrar and request your OFFICIAL transcript:
  • Visit the Registrar's "Request Transcript" website
  • Read through the options for format (paper or digital), timing (immediately, or after the term ends), delivery method (mail, email, express), and signature and payment information.
  • Follow the prompts.

An unofficial CWU transcript will not transfer credits but it is highly useful for college applications and planning
  • It lists your classes, grades, and credits earned at the university
  • It lists your eligibility and/or prerequisites met for some classes
  • It documents your education efforts
  • It shows your college academic advisor which classes you have taken at CWU. *
  1. Your advisor will be better prepared to help you navigate your college registration process and
  2. Your advisor will be able to tell you how your CWU class credits will be applied, when your official transcript arrives and the credits get transferred.
How do I get a copy of my unofficial CWU transcript?
  • Log in to your MyCWU account, Student Dashboard
  • Select "Records" in the left hand column
  • Then select "View Unofficial Transcript"
  • Next to "Report Type" (in the box in the middle) select Unofficial Transcript, then click the "View Report" button.
  • Your unofficial transcript opens as a PDF in a new window. Hit the download button in the upper right, and save to a file.
*Do not underestimate the importance of academic advising at your new college or university. They are there to help, and can prevent mistakes such as registering for a class for which you have already received CWU credit.
