January 20, 21: Greater Olean Outdoor and Rec Sports Show , Good Times Events Center, Sat hours 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sun hours 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Check out the vendors, take in a seminar, test out products with demos, and pick up some cool tips at this year’s show. For vendor registration form or more information, please call 716-372-4433.

DECEMBER 21: DINNER and a SHOW – All She Wants for Christmas, Woodside Tavern on The Range, Allegany, cash bar 5 to 6 p.m., dinner family style 6 to 7:30 p.m., and the show 7:30 to 9 p.m.  The cost is $45, which includes show and the dinner of chicken Marsala, pork loin, roasted potatoes, salad and bread. Enjoy the show: All She wants for Christmas -- It’s Christmas Eve and Mrs. Clause is home with the elves awaiting the return of Santa. Mrs. Claus gives us the ins and outs of what it is really like living with Santa. This fun and classy Christmas show is packed with all your holiday favorite songs and a few Broadway hits too. Come and experience the true meaning of Christmas thru the eyes of Mrs. Clause.

DECEMBER 21: DANCING in the PARK, Lincoln Park, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Come down and watch the dancers from Dance Arts dance in Lincoln Park. Also, bring a scarf. Dance Arts is inviting all to come down and hang scarves on the trees for those that have difficulty in staying warm. Those in need can help themselves from the scarves.

DECEMBER 22: BONA BUS TRIP, Carrier Dome, Syracuse, game time 7 p.m. Take a trip with Empire Coach Lines to watch our Bonnies take on the Orangemen of Syracuse. The fee is $55.00 per person, which includes round trip transportation and ticket to the game! DECEMBER 23: Live Music in the Bar with "West,” St. Stephen’s Club, 1117 N Union St, Olean, Olean, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The concert is open to the public with no cover charge.

DECEMBER 25: ANNUAL COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS DINNER, Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, Olean, dine-in hours 12:30-1:30 p.m. For those coming to eat in, please go to the dining hall lower level of church and use South First Street entrance. The complete dinner includes: ham, potatoes, mixed vegetables, applesauce, pineapple, rolls, dessert, treat bag. Take outs and home deliveries are available. This dinner is open and free to all. Reservations are needed by December 22. Please call 716-372-4841 or 814-598-0158. Volunteers are needed as well, please call 372-4841. Online Donations to help defray costs can be donated online.

DECEMBER 26: TWELVE ICE SKATING DAYS OF CHRISTMAS, William O. Smith Recreation Center, Olean, 6 to 8 p.m. Enjoy free public ice-skating courtesy of sponsor Greater Olean Chamber of Commerce. There is a $2.00 skate rental fee. For more information, please contact the rink at 716-373-RINK.

DECEMBER 27, 28: TWO-DAY TECH UNLEASHED CAMP, Boundless Connections, Olean. BC is gathering the area youth aged 13-17 that are interested in computer and mobile technology to expand and combine their skills in service to the community. This camp is for any youth interested in programming, graphic art, 3d printing, and video/audio editing. Together, they can accomplish so much more than on their own. Boundless Connections, Strength Solutions, Sol Epoxy, United Way, and Directions in Independent Living, have combined resources to make this affordable for the young techies in our area. DECEMBER 31: NEW YEARS EVE DINNER at WOODSIDE, Woodside Tavern on the Green, Olean, doors open at 6 p.m., dinner 7 p.m. The fee is $54 per person with reservations required. Dinner will be a 5-course meal, course 1-wild boar chops, and course 2- pan seared scallops, course 3-Micro green salad, course 4- Surf and Turf, and course 5- dessert.

JANUARY 1: NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION 5K RUN/WALK, St. Bonaventure University, registration 12 to 12:45 p.m., event start 1 p.m. The fees for pre-registrations are Y members (Ages 17 & Under): $10 Y members (Ages 18+): $15 Public (Ages 17 & Under): $15 Public (Ages 18+): $20. Pre-registration deadline is Thursday, December 28, 2017. JANUARY 1: NEW YEAR, NEW YOU JUMPSTART! WORKSHOP, Positive Moves Consulting, Olean, 10:30 a.m. to Noon. Every day is an opportunity to create greater wellness for yourself, but many of us like to think of the new year as a particularly good time to set

JANUARY 1: 3rd Annual NEW YEAR’S DAY HIKE FOR YOUR HEALTH, Pfeiffer Nature Center, 1974 Lillibridge Road, Portville, start time 10 a.m. The hike (one hour in length) will be moderately strenuous- which, in terms of exercise means you will be able to talk but not sing during the activity. The hike is free to the public and will take place rain or shine. The hike will be canceled if we are experiencing extreme weather conditions.
