CYEP selects Crystal City for its new headquarters.
On August 1, 2019, CYEP officially moved into its new headquarters located at 2011 Crystal Drive, Suite 400 in Arlington, Virginia. This new location is at Eastern Foundry, a shared office space that specializes in small, government contracting companies. The office is located across the street from Amazon HQ2.

CYEP was previously located at 1315 Duke Street in Alexandria.  The eleven-year partnership with the Northern Virginia Urban League (NVUL) helped to provide the organization with office space and brand recognition. The Co-Founders, Erick and Isaac King, are grateful for the opportunity to partner with NVUL. “Lavern Chatman, former President & CEO of NVUL was instrumental in helping CYEP established itself as a service provider in Northern Virginia, she is a community stakeholder and mentor who has helped the organization grow exponentially.”
Fathers in Touch Expands to DC
CYEP is expanding its footprint in the Washington Metro area this fall. The Washington, DC office began Fathers in Touch at the Shaw Library on September 9, 2019. In a partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Fatherhood, Men and Boys and Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, CYEP is excited about the opportunity to grow its impact in the region.

In addition, CYEP continues to provide Fathers in Touch in Fairfax County and Young Fathers in Touch in the City of Alexandria. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays this fall men have access to free fatherhood services in Washington, DC and Northern Virginia.
Father of the Year
On June 16, 2019, the CYEP Co-Founder and C.E.O. Erick King, was awarded Father of the Year at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, located on Rhode Island Avenue in Washington, DC, during worship service on Father’s Day. He was honored for his commitment and service to the community through CYEP and being a great father and role-model to his children Kayhan (4) and Amaya (2).

Erick recently transitioned from his role as the Juvenile Probation Supervisor at the Arlington Court Service Unit to work with CYEP on a full-time basis. His vision and experience will help CYEP expand from a local to regional organization over the next few years.
CYEP Youth Place 2nd in Soccer Tournament
CYEP successfully completed a Spanish speaking group of El Camino, a teen pregnancy prevention program for Latino adolescents that focuses on the attainment of their personal goals. The male only group had great conversations around the topics of settings goals, protecting themselves when it comes to sexual health and the importance of healthy relationships.

Soccer was also infused into the daily sessions to keep the youth engaged. The group was able to participate in an Arlington County Gang Prevention Soccer Tournament and came in 2nd place with Carlos Alberto Garcia Hernandez named as the tournament MVP.
