NEW! Spotlight on ICORE Juniors
Part 1: Jacob
Meet Jacob, a Junior member from California. Jacob and his dad Lee have only been ICORE members since early 2021, but they have made the drive to the last two Southwest Regionals. Here's Jacob from the 2022 SW Regional, thrilled with the new Limited Division revolver, a surprise from his dad after last year's event.
Generally speaking, ICORE's Junior members are smart guys and gals with multiple interests. Jacob's dad, a retired law enforcement officer, introduced him to firearms as a 6 year old, and his sister even joins them at the range. He started with a semi-auto which evolved into a Glock 44, then he added a classic revolver. Since last year's SW Regional, Lee says that Jacob's revolver skills are on the upswing since adding an 8-shot, 9mm revolver. They enjoy and use steel challenge as a warm-up event.
Jacob is an honor student who gravitates to math and science. He is in the Civil Air Patrol and wants to go the United States Air Force Academy, with the hope of serving as an Air Force fighter pilot. In the meantime his schedule will be full playing high school football and golf, the sport of choice. And don't forget the video games!
Jacob has also studied Krav Maga, a pure self defense and striking system originally taught to the Israeli Army to help avoid and survive the worst case scenarios. It combines the most effective techniques and philosophy from various martial arts and fight training. Conflict avoidance ... the best way to win a fight is to not get into a fight.
Jacob's dad Lee appreciates that ICORE supports its Junior members!
