NEW FEE INFORMATION FOR CENTRAL YORK FITNESS CENTER MEMBERS

Central York School District has offered community members use of its Fitness Center without charge since the new high school opened in August 2005.

The center is equipped with cardio equipment, including treadmills, elliptical fitness machines, rowing machines and stationary exercise bikes, along with weightlifting equipment. There is always a staff person to assist any person who needs it.

There are, however, annual expenses associated with maintaining the center's equipment - and providing a staff person to be on site during the center's hours of operation.

The Board of School Directors recently approved a new Fitness Center fee to offset these costs. Beginning this July, Fitness Center users will be charged a nominal monthly fee for usage.

The new fee of $6/month or $60/annually for residents and $10/month or $100/annually for nonresidents is competitive with other fitness facility fees throughout York County. The fee will took effect July 1, 2016.

To purchase a Fitness Center Membership online, please click here to visit the CYSD Web Store.
