DECEMBER 2020
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14
STUDENTS SHOW THEIR SUPPORT
We may not have had in-person audiences for our fall shows, but that didn't stop CYT KC students from cheering one another on! Thank you to our HYPE students for gathering to cheer on our performers on their way in to their performances this session! And thank you to many of our middle school students who came out to celebrate our high school students when it was their turn to perform!
IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO GIVE IN 2020!
If you are making charitable contributions as this year comes to a close, please consider giving to CYT KC! Even as the COVID-19 pandemic has caused many changes in our programming and our day-to-day lives, CYT KC has been committed to continuing to provide a safe and wholesome environment for our students to build their skills and express themselves. However, programming reductions necessitated by health and safety restrictions and guidelines have meant a decrease in revenue during this period. Your tax-deductible gift will support us in developing character and creativity in kids during this time and beyond!
DON'T FORGET TO SUPPORT CYT KC WITH YOUR HOLIDAY SHOPPING
As you finish (or start!) your holiday shopping, don't miss your chance to support CYT KC! If you are purchasing items from Amazon, use smile.amazon.com and choose Christian Youth Theater Kansas City Inc. as your charity to generate funds for CYT KC with your Amazon purchase! We appreciate your support!

IMPROVE YOUR IMPROV IN OUR AUDITIONED MASTER IMPROV CLASS
Traditionally, each spring we offer an exciting and engaging auditioned improv class for those students who have been selected to be a part of the improv team representing CYT KC at the CYT National Improvathon along with a select group of other talented CYT improvers. Although this year looks different, we want to continue the culture of high-quality improv training at CYT KC, so the auditioned-based high-level class will continue!

Students who are accepted into this class will work to fully develop original characters in each scene, show how their characters are connected to one another, establish the world in which the scene is set, and follow the rules and restrictions of a variety of improv games. It will be a fun semester and a great skill-building opportunity for those who might like to be a part of the CYT KC improv team in the future! Students will also have a chance to show off their skills in a performance at the end of the session (stay tuned for details)!

Note: Additional rehearsals may be added along with possible opportunities for performances.

If you have any questions about this track, please email classsupport@cytkc.org.

Auditions will be held on January 9 at 1 to 3 p.m. at the CYT Studios. Interested students should use the link below to sign up for auditions!
NOW REGISTERING FOR SPRING CLASSES

SAYING GOODBYE TO 2020
Living life through a pandemic has definitely brought new challenges to our lives in 2020.

For families with disabilities it can seem like those same challenges are amplified. Living life with a disability  comes with many blessings and with the gift of resilience.

Students with disabilities live their lives knowing how to adapt to unexpected challenges throughout their life.

They are most likely spending their time at home singing and dancing in anticipation of their next audition because of their experience in CYT.

We are so very grateful for all of the CYT families and staff that make the HEART program possible for so many. We are also so thankful and blessed by all of the memories being made.

Stay safe and healthy and we look forward to being together again soon in 2021.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
