--->Stephanie Tanny...is a fierce activist, visual and spoken word artist who strives to be a voice and ally for all marginalized communities. Her work is heavily influenced from growing up in Colorado as a 1.5 generation Indonesian immigrant as well as by her experiences with sexual assault. Stephanie's artwork has appeared in collections as far away as South Korea, and she has been televised live on C-SPAN discussing ways to end sexual violence. In 2011, Stephanie was selected as one of fifteen top APA Women Leaders by the National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum (NAPAWF) for making waves in her community.

---->Earth Guardians "Voice of Youth" rap group are writing poetic hip hop lyrics to educate their generation about the critical state of the planet they are inheriting, and to inspire youth all over the planet to action. They are building a movement of youth who are taking their concerns into action by becoming educated on issues, speaking in City Council's, on radio and news shows and organizing rallies, presentations and meetings around issues that directly will affect their future. They believe their music opens hearts, and their lyrics educates and inspires people to look at what they are leaving future generations.

Workshops for Youth

We had the honor to present our spoken word/poetry workshop at the Lalo Delgado Poetry Festival as well as at the La Raza Youth Leadership Conference. We enjoyed working with 7th graders from Carbondale Middle School and students at Littleton HS. If you're interested in our workshops, please contact us.

Our workshops with youth at KIPP Denver Collegiate High School and The Bridge Project @ Quigg Newton have been amazing. Here is a sample of what they've produced:

"I come from green chile that my mom and grandmother makes for my entire family.

I am on fire when I eat it.

I will never forget the time I ate the delicious hot chile.

It makes me feel warm and comfortable."

We are taking steps to publish chapbooks from each group and would appreciate your financial support (see below for details)...
