You did it! It is an exciting time of year for you and your loved ones as you celebrate your achievement. The faculty and staff at Cal State LA congratulate you! The Class of 2025 includes the graduates of fall 2024 and winter 2025 and the projected graduates of spring 2025 and summer 2025.

You are eligible to participate in the 2025 Commencement ceremonies scheduled May 19 - 21, 2025, at the historic Shrine Auditorium. In this video, President Berenecea Johnson Eanes shared news of the venue with the campus community.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION



Be sure to read through this email in its entirety and keep it for reference. You may also reference the information on the Commencement website. Eligible graduating candidates are based on the January 15, 2025, graduation list. For projected spring 2025 and summer 2025 graduates, your eligibility to participate is dependent on your graduation application status for the current academic year. Information is updated regularly by the Graduation Office.

SCHEDULE

There will be 9 college-based ceremonies held over three days. You will automatically be assigned to a ceremony based on your college, department, and major.



The detailed schedule is now posted on the Commencement website. Each date lists the college, department, and majors assigned to each ceremony.

REGISTRATION AND TICKETING

Online registration will start on March 24, 2025, at 9 a.m. (PT), and end on April 21, 2025, at 5 p.m. (PT).

All graduating students planning to participate in the in-person ceremonies must register in advance to attend. Additional information will be posted on the Commencement website that includes registration and ticketing instructions.



Graduating students who register to participate during the registration period will be able to reserve up to 7 guest tickets. Please note that Commencement guest tickets are free and cannot be bought or sold. Under no circumstance should an exchange of money occur for tickets. Tickets that are bought or sold will be invalidated by the University.

REGALIA (CAP AND GOWN)

Graduating students participating in the Commencement ceremonies must wear the appropriate academic attire. Regalia represents the three principal levels of academic achievement at Cal State LA: bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.

BACHELOR'S AND MASTER'S DEGREE REGALIA

Bachelor's and master's degree regalia will be available for purchase at the University Bookstore during the dates listed below:

• In-person: March 27, 2025, until Commencement
• Online: April 1, 2025, until May 9, 2025

DOCTORAL DEGREE REGALIA

Doctoral degree regalia must be preordered through the University Bookstore's regalia vendor—Oak Hall—by visiting the doctoral degree regalia order form (coming soon). Hoods are required for the ceremony. The hood color is associated with your degree.
