Cal State LA awarded NIH research grant for biomedical research

Cal State LA received a grant from the National Institutes of Health to provide students with opportunities to participate in biomedical research. The four-year grant will support research on computer-aided drug design, under the direction of Dr. Negin Forouzesh, the grant’s principal investigator and assistant professor of computer science in the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology. WordsUncaged community exhibit opens on March 4

WordsUncaged, a collective of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated men and women and their families, will host an art exhibition on Saturday, March 4, at Azadeh Shladovsky Studio. WordsUncaged was co-founded by Dr. Bidhan Roy, a faculty member in the Department of English at Cal State LA. Read more about the exhibit.

Cal State LA representatives speak to Los Angeles church congregations for CSU Super Sunday

Cal State LA representatives spoke to youth at West Angeles Church of God in Christ and St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church as part of CSU Super Sunday. For the 18th annual event on Feb. 26, the CSU and campuses across the state partnered with nearly 100 predominantly Black churches across California to share a message for future students: You belong at the CSU.
