Students volunteer at Cal State LA Gives Back! service event
Cal State LA dedicated a day of service to helping the local nonprofit United American Involvement, Inc. during its Annual Harvest Celebration on Nov. 19. A group of Cal State LA students from the Marketing 3950 course, the #CalifornianForAll College Corps program, and Project Rebound volunteered at the gathering that served more than 143 people from the local community. Presidential Investiture planned for the month of March
Save the dates! President Berenecea Johnson Eanes will be formally installed as the ninth president of Cal State LA during an investiture ceremony on Friday, March 7, 2025. In addition to the ceremony, there will be campus-wide events on March 6 and a community event on March 8 as part of the investiture program. Donate to the Cal State LA Toy Donation Drive
Cal State LA is hosting a Toy Donation Drive in collaboration with the Para Los Niños nonprofit organization, which serves needy children and families in Los Angeles. Donations of new and unused toys will be collected through Dec. 13. Drop off donations at the Center for Student Involvement, located on the third floor of the University-Student Union, or the Center for Engagement, Service, and the Public Good, located on the lower level of the Career Center. Cal State LA collected canned food for low-income families
Cal State LA students, faculty, and staff donated 1,035 nonperishable food items, valuing at $1,690, during the annual Canned Food Drive, organized by the Center for Engagement, Service, and the Public Good. The canned goods were distributed by the United American Involvement, Inc. nonprofit organization to low-income families during its drive-through event on Nov. 26. The center thanks the Cal State LA community for its generous contributions.

Student Health Center hosts Wellness Station during finals week
To promote wellness during finals week, the Student Health Center will be hosting its first Wellness Station where students can stop by for refreshments and interact with therapy dogs to decompress from finals. The station will take place Tuesday, Dec. 10, and Thursday, Dec. 12, from 12 to 3 p.m., in front of the Student Health Center.

Flu vaccines are available at the Student Health Center at no cost to eligible students. The cost for faculty and staff is $20. Payment is accepted by cash or check only. You can schedule an appointment by calling the Student Health Center at 323-343-3300.

Counseling services available for campus community
Employees may find counseling assistance through the Employee Assistance Program, LifeMatters, by calling 1-800-367-7474 or visiting the LifeMatters website. Cal State LA’s company password is GOEAGLES. Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides services to students throughout the fall. Parking closure during holiday break
The north side of Parking Lot 5 will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 21 and from Dec. 26 to Dec. 28 for the LAUSD All District High School Honor Marching Band. The band will be using part of the lot to practice for its appearance in the Tournament of Roses Parade.
