Coastal Commission Environmental Justice and LCP Survey

The California Coastal Commission is seeking public input on how to integrate environmental justice considerations into Local Coastal Programs, which are planning documents that guide allowable development along the coast. In 2019, the Commission adopted its environmental justice policy to provide guidance for the agency and the public on how the Commission will address environmental justice. According to today’s announcement, the Commission is committed to working with local governments in coastal cities and counties to address environmental justice and equity in their local land use plans. Answers to this short survey will help the Commission understand what information and guidance the Commission should develop to support local governments to bring greater environmental justice and equity to coastal zone communities. Take the survey here. The survey will remain open until April 30, 2021. Email [email protected] if you have any questions.
