What online course does CalHFA accept for Homebuyer Education and Counseling?

As detailed in Program Bulletin 2017-04, CalHFA's only acceptable online homebuyer education and counseling course is through its partnership with eHomeAmerica. First-time homebuyers are to use the CalHFA/eHomeAmerica branded course. This $99 course provides first-time homebuyers with the required one-on-one homebuyer counseling session as a follow-up to the CalHFA/eHomeAmerica online education course. Other online homebuyer education courses, such as Frameworks, that do not provide the one-on-one follow-up counseling session are not acceptable.

As a reminder, first-time homebuyers can also take any in-person homebuyer education and counseling course through NeighborWorks America or any HUD-Approved Housing Counseling Agency. Fees vary by agency.
