CalFresh Enrollment Events and Resource Fair for the Community
|
CalOptima is hosting three events to raise awareness about the CalFresh program on June 11, 18 and 25, from 10 a.m.– 2 p.m. The events will offer on-site CalFresh enrollment, food distribution, diaper distribution (while supplies last), community resources and activities for the whole family, including music, face painting, balloons and more.

InfoSeries: A Local and National Snapshot on Homelessness

|
A virtual InfoSeries on a Local and National Snapshot on Homelessness will take place on Tuesday, June 14, from 1:30–3 p.m. The event is designed to provide a local and national overview of Transitional Age Youth (TAY) experiencing homelessness. Learn why the TAY population is particularly vulnerable to homelessness, receive an update on CalAIM and the new Community Supports being added no sooner than July 1. CalOptima Virtual Resource Fair: Resources to Address Food Insecurity

 |
|
CalOptima invites you to attend a three-part virtual resource fair throughout the month of June focusing on “Resources to Address Food Insecurity in Orange County.” Each session will highlight one of the following categories: Food Resources for Families and Children, Food Resources for Older Adults, and Food Distribution in the Community (food banks that collaborate with non-profit agencies to provide food in the community).
The purpose of the fair is to inform and educate health care partners, community stakeholders and CalOptima employees about services and programs available to better serve CalOptima and community members experiencing food insecurity. Join CalOptima PACE for a Senior Health and Wellness event on Saturday, June 11 from 10:30 a.m .–1 p.m. The event will provide information about the PACE program and offer facility tours to prospective participants and their families. Click here for the event flyer.

CalOptima CMO Joins Local Leaders for Forum on
COVID-19 and Health Equity
|
CalOptima Chief Medical Officer Richard Pitts, D.O., Ph.D. (at left) joined other Orange County leaders including Clayton Chau, M.D., Ph.D., Director, Orange County Health Care Agency and CalOptima Board Director (at right) for a community forum titled, “Beyond COVID-19”. The forum examined the County’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic from the perspective of highly impacted communities and emergency and healthcare responders. It also highlighted the Equity in OC initiatives, which aim to improve the lives of underserved and multicultural communities in Orange County.

CalOptima Leaders Connect with Orange County Vendors
|
CalOptima participated in a vendor outreach event organized by the County of Orange to promote and facilitate the delivery of goods and services to the community. Leaders from CalOptima’s Community Relations and Provider Relations teams shared information and resources on contracting with CalOptima, especially in support of the Community Supports provided by CalAIM.

The Orange County Health Care Agency makes it easy for individuals to get a COVID-19 vaccine. Click here to find an appointment location and time.
Vaccinations are also available for anyone who is homebound, and transportation services are available for anyone who needs a ride to a vaccination site. If you need help scheduling a vaccination appointment, call the OC COVID-19 Hotline at 714-834-2000.

At-Home Rapid COVID-19 Tests
|

The Biden Administration is announcing that every home in the U.S. is eligible to order a 3rd round of at-home rapid COVID-19 tests through COVIDTests.gov.U.S. households are now able to order an additional eight free at-home tests. For a list of frequently asked questions, click here.

Orange County Vote Centers
|
Select vote centers are now open for eligible voters to cast a vote for the Primary Election. Beginning June 4, all 181 vote centers will be open from 8 a.m.–5 p.m., and on June 7, vote centers will be open from 7 a.m.–8 p.m. To find the nearest vote center, visit the Registrar of Voters website at ocvote.gov/locate.

How to Contact CalOptima During the COVID-19 Pandemic
|
CalOptima Customer Service remains ready to respond to member needs as we adhere to guidelines to reduce the possibility of COVID-19 transmission. Our building is closed to visitors. Members can call Customer Service from the safety of their home, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have staff who speak their language. Members can also visit www.caloptima.org and access their member portal.
