CalOptima COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic for Kids and the Community
|
CalOptima and the OC Health Care Agency are partnering to host vaccine clinics for kids and the community with support from community partners. CalOptima invites children ages 5–11 years old to get vaccinated to stay safe at home and at school. All others age 12+ who are unvaccinated are encouraged to attend the clinics as well.
Vaccines Available: Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson (1st, 2nd, 3rd doses, and boosters)
Eligible CalOptima members can receive a $25 gift card per vaccine at the event.

- Saturday, December 4, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
- St. Anthony Claret Catholic Church, 1450 E. La Palma Ave., Anaheim (Johnson & Johnson will be not offered)
- Wednesday, December 8, 3 p.m.–8 p.m.
- Los Olivos Community Center, 101 Alfonso, Irvine
- Saturday, December 11, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
- Toyota Place, 9444 Trask Ave., Garden Grove
- Saturday, January 15, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
- Orange County Social Services Central Regional Office, 2020 W. Walnut St., Santa Ana

To register, members can call the OC COVID-19 Hotline at 1-714-834-2000 or use www.othena.com and select the appropriate vaccination site. Transportation for members can be arranged by calling CalOptima at 1-888-587-8088. For additional information and a list of the times and locations, click here.

The Orange County Health Care Agency makes it easy for individuals to get a COVID-19 vaccine. There are several ways to find an appointment. Click here for the various options.

COVID-19 In-Home Vaccination Program
|
|
 |
|
Eligible Orange County residents ages 5 and older can request an in-home COVID-19 vaccination by calling the OC COVID-19 hotline at 714-834-2000 or by submitting a request through www.othena.com.
A representative will make contact to complete an intake form, screen for in-home vaccination eligibility and schedule an appointment for the individual and any other eligible household members. Intake representatives are available Monday–Friday from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. The time frame of the appointment is determined by program staff availability.

With more social gatherings occurring, COVID-19 testing can help prevent the risk of spread. Plan to get a viral COVID-19 test at least 1–3 days before and 3–5 days after trips, gatherings or following exposure or symptoms.

Booster Doses Available for Fully Vaccinated Adults
|
|
 |
|
- If you received Pfizer or Moderna for your primary vaccine series, you are eligible for a booster dose at least 6 months after your 2nd shot
- If you received Johnson & Johnson for your primary vaccine series, you are eligible for a booster dose at least 2 months after your 1st shot
- If you are immunocompromised and received a 3rd dose of Pfizer or Moderna (not a booster), you are eligible for a booster dose at least 6 months after your 3rd shot
- If you received a COVID-19 vaccine outside the U.S., please consult a health care professional to understand if you qualify for a Pfizer booster

The 27th Annual Report on the Conditions of Children in Orange County is now available. The report offers a comprehensive assessment of the health, economic well-being, education and safety of Orange County’s children.
This year’s report also includes a special section related to COVID-19 and the county’s “all-in” response to the pandemic.

Cold Weather Emergency Shelter

Volunteers of America, in partnership with The County of Orange will be opening The Orange County Cold Weather Emergency Shelter on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Walk-ups will not be permitted. Two bus pick-up locations will be available. Click here to access the flyer with additional information.

New Toolkit Offers Guidance for Seniors and Caregivers
|
The Orange County Office on Aging released a new COVID-19 toolkit for seniors and their caregivers that offers guidance, tools and information on:
- Recognizing signs of mental health needs
- Appropriate social skills for safe interactions
- Helping seniors with technology barriers
- Grief and loss support
- Adult Day Programs & Residential Care guidance
- Self-care tips for staff and volunteers

How to Contact CalOptima During the COVID-19 Pandemic
|
CalOptima Customer Service remains ready to respond to member needs as we adhere to guidelines to reduce the possibility of COVID-19 transmission. Our building is closed to visitors. Members can call Customer Service from the safety of their home, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have staff who speak their language. Members can also visit www.caloptima.org and access their member portal.
