COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution Phase Update

The success of the County’s implementation of the phased, tiered vaccination plan depends on everyone being patient and allowing priority groups to be vaccinated first. Currently, vaccinations are being provided to the following prioritized groups:
- Phase 1A populations (all tiers)
- Phase 1B, Tier 1 populations which include:
- Education
- Food Service, Grocery and Agriculture Workers
- Child Care Providers
- Emergency Services
The Health Care Agency Hotline at 714-834-2000 is available Monday–Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for questions related to Othena, vaccine appointments and other vaccine-related issues. Specific Othena questions can also be emailed to support@compositeapps.net.

Severe Weather Delays COVID-19 Vaccine Supplies/Temporarily Closure of POD Sites

|
As of Saturday, February 20, the Santa Ana College POD site has temporarily closed due to a lack of vaccine supply. Severe weather across the country delayed delivery of COVID-19 vaccine supplies across the State of California, including to Orange County. The reopening date of the Santa Ana College POD depends on receipt of additional Pfizer vaccine supply.
Everyone who has an appointment will receive a notification through Othena with information regarding rescheduled appointments.

COVID-19 Vaccine Super POD Site Opens at Anaheim Convention Center
|
|
Effective February 24, 2021, everyone who received the first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at the Disneyland Super POD site will be able to receive the second dose at the Anaheim Convention Center Super POD site. After February 24, Disneyland will only dispense Pfizer, both first and second doses.
The Anaheim Convention Center site will only dispense Moderna, first and second doses.
For those who have scheduled their second dose appointment, the date and time will remain the same; only the location will change. Othena will send a notification to everyone whose appointment location is affected by this change.

Social Services Agency Expands Office Hours at
Four Regional Centers
|

Effective Monday, February 22, 2021 the County of Orange Social Services Agency (SSA) will extend in-person office hours at its four currently open public assistance regional centers. The expanded hours will help to ensure a greater number of Orange County residents have in-person access to public assistance benefits and related services, while planning for the safety and protection of SSA clients and staff during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Beginning Monday, February 22, 2021, the following locations will be open to the public with limited functionality, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to
5 p.m.:

Laguna Hills Regional Center, 23330 Moulton Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA 92653

The same services provided by the regional offices can be accessed online as well the SSA Call Center. SSA urges OC residents to use alternative access points, if possible.

Outdoor and Indoor Youth and Recreational Adult Sports Industry Guidance
|
|
The California Department of Public Health announced that, beginning February 26, many outdoor and indoor adult recreational and youth organized sports may resume, subject to guidance, which provides direction on outdoor and indoor youth and recreational adult sports activities to support a safe environment for these sports. The guidance applies to all organized youth sports and recreation — including school- and community-sponsored programs, and privately-organized clubs and leagues — and adult recreational sports.
