OC Launches COVID-19 Vaccine Equity Pilot Program
On February 4, the CalOptima Board of Directors approved the COVID-19 Vaccine Equity Pilot Program, designed to improve direct access to vaccinations for CalOptima members who live in the hardest-hit communities by the pandemic.

Originally introduced by Supervisors Andrew Do and Doug Chaffee, the program was unanimously approved by the OC Board of Supervisors on January 26.

CalOptima’s Board approved an action to accept a direct allocation of COVID-19 vaccines from the Orange County Health Care Agency on behalf of contracted health networks that will handle the vaccine administration to vulnerable CalOptima members who are 65 years or older.

CalOptima COVID-19 Vaccine Advertising Campaign
CalOptima’s COVID-19 vaccine advertising campaign launches this week. The first part of the campaign emphasizes placement in local English, Spanish and Vietnamese language newspapers. In March, we will add digital, social media and Spanish-language radio ads, followed by billboards and transit shelter ads in April.

The campaign will run through the end of June; across that period, we will introduce new ad designs to keep the campaign fresh and updated with the latest information.
Othena Now Available in Spanish and Vietnamese
Othena is a COVID-19 digital solution designed to manage the vaccination process, connecting individuals with vaccine distributors, setting up appointments and walking people through the vaccination process.

Spanish and Vietnamese language versions of Othena.com are now available by clicking on the “English” drop down at the top of the page and then selecting “Español” or “Tiếng Việt.”
