FDA and CDC Lift Recommended Pause on Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) COVID-19 Vaccine
The FDA and the CDC have determined that the recommended pause regarding the use of the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 Vaccine in the U.S. should be lifted and use of the vaccine should resume.

Disneyland Drive-Thru Super Point-of-Dispensing Site to Close
The OC Health Care Agency (HCA) Disneyland Drive-Thru Super Point-of-Dispensing (POD) site in Anaheim will close on April 30, 2021. The HCA continues to administer walk-up vaccinations at the Anaheim Convention Center, Soka University, the OC Fair & Event Center, Santa Ana College and through targeted mobile PODs.

COVID-19 Industry Guidance for Private Venues and Events
The California Department of Public Health provides COVID-19 Industry Guidance for Private Venues and Events to support a safe and clean environment for workers, guests and customers.
Private venues and events are distinguished from gatherings in that they must have defined guest lists and the ability to assign guest seating. Attendance at private venues and events shall be limited according to the County Risk Level. For the most updated information on county status, visit Blueprint for a Safer Economy. Please note that local health departments can have more restrictive criteria and different closures.

Orange County COVID Equity Community Response
|
The HCA funded the Orange County COVID Equity Community Response, a project by the Multi-Ethnic Collaborative of Community Agencies (MECCA) to support the community’s access to vaccines. People eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine are encouraged to call to schedule an appointment at 714-278-4670. Transportation is available upon request if needed.

Orange County Public Libraries Service Update
|
Orange County Public Library has expanded services. As part of the Orange Tier, OC Public Library facilities are now open for Grab & Go service, 30-minute browsing and public internet with printing capabilities for 1 hour per day per person by appointment. In addition, OC Public Libraries continues contactless Curbside Pickup service at all libraries. Free Wi-Fi is still available for use outside the library buildings during open hours only.
Service hours are Tuesday–Thursday, 11 a.m.–7 p.m. and Friday–Saturday, from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. * Laguna Hills Technology branch Grab & Go services are Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

OC Youth Service Providers Consortium
The OC Youth Service Providers Consortium is taking place on Thursday, May 6 from 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. This year’s topic "Healing Communities: Addressing and Mitigating Trauma,” will provide a comprehensive and in-depth overview of childhood trauma, the neurological effects of trauma to an individual who discloses but no action is taken and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE).

Lived Experience Advisory Committee
The Office of Care Coordination on behalf of the Orange County Continuum of Care (CoC) is facilitating the Lived Experience Advisory Committee recruitment and selection process. The committee’s purpose is to ensure that the voices and perspectives of individuals with current and/or past lived experience of homelessness are heard and considered in the decision-making process of the CoC Board, and to provide a way to share recommendations and feedback on the CoC’s programs and services. Apply by May 15, 2021, or if you have any questions email CareCoordination@ochca.com.
