Individuals eligible for CalFresh can now receive up to $281 and a family of four can receive up to $939 to buy healthy food.
“Thanks to this program, I’ve been able to purchase more food,” said CalFresh recipient and mother of three Laura Villafam in a recent news segment on CalFresh and CalOptima Health’s efforts to increase awareness of the program in the community. “[Food] prices have gone up, so I’m very grateful.”
For more information on CalFresh and how community members can apply, visit caloptima.org/calfresh. In addition, learn about Northgate Market’s Mas Fresco program, which can add up to another $100 a month for fresh fruits and vegetables to eligible CalFresh recipients’ food budgets.

To Keep Medi-Cal After the Public Health Emergency (PHE) Ends, Members Need to Update Their Information |
CalOptima Health Medi-Cal members need to report any changes in their household to the County of Orange Social Services Agency (SSA) online, by phone, email, or in person before the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE), which has been extended through January 11, 2023.
| | |
During the COVID-19 PHE, Medi-Cal members could keep their coverage regardless of changes in their circumstances. However, when the PHE ends, the county will send letters to members asking for information to determine if they are still eligible to remain on Medi-Cal.
See, and learn more about planning to keep Medi-Cal coverage through the end of the PHE.
