School Calendar Draft up for Feedback

The Calendar Committee would like to thank stakeholders for their feedback on the school calendars survey. The data collected help guide a committee of community members, staff, and administration to draft a school calendar for further review.

Check out the draft calendar here. The draft is for the 2023-2024 School Year, and we are asking for your continued feedback until January 4, 2023.

In this draft, the calendar committee facilitated simplifying the color coding on the calendar to reduce confusion, added tiered conference dates for the various schools, and added additional breaks for students and staff throughout the year. Lastly, we made adjustments to the District's weather related cancellations. The District will take all full-day closures and make them up at the end of the school year in June. We will not make up late starts and early release times unless we have missed more than 25 hours of instruction.

Again, the Calendar Committee would greatly appreciate hearing feedback on the draft calendar by January 4th. Thank you for your input and feedback!

Update on the Secondary Facilities Master Plan

Board of Education update on the secondary facilities master plan

At the December 12, 2022, CRCSD Board meeting, Board President David Tominsky indicated that the District intends to proceed with a bond vote in September 2023, which will allow additional time to consider community and staff input regarding our facilities needs. In the coming months, further discussion of the Facilities Master Plan, which will include a more detailed timeline, will be shared.

Every Learner. Future Ready.

Crisis Prevention Across CRCSD

Crisis Prevention is a critical component of our work designed to provide district staff with training in identifying the underlying causes of the student behavior and providing appropriate support in real time. As a result of the training, staff are able to evaluate risk of harm, monitor for signs of distress, document the incidents, and utilize safe, less-restrictive physical interventions to be used only as a last resort.

CRCSD is sharing information about our crisis prevention strategies and each of our school’s crisis teams, per an agreement with the Department of Justice.

All CRCSD Seventh Graders Experience STEAM Institute

This past week, all seventh-grade students from each of our middle schools attended a STEAM Institute at Kirkwood Regional Center. The event, hosted by local businesses and organizations, offers students a hands-on introduction to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.

The students participated in three, 30 minute interactive sessions, from healthcare, the trades, and more. The goal of the event is to expose students and begin conversations about career self-discovery.
